Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Maintenance Mechanic to join our Food & Beverage operations team. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of production equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent operation. The ideal candidate has hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude, experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment, and the ability to perform both preventative and corrective maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on processing, packaging, and facility equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to minimize downtime.
- Support production teams by responding quickly to equipment breakdowns and ensuring operational reliability.
- Calibrate and adjust machinery to maintain product quality and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and work orders in the CMMS system.
- Follow all safety, food safety, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) guidelines.
- Assist in equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
- Collaborate with other mechanics, engineers, and operators to resolve recurring issues and improve equipment performance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and sanitation requirements.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (food & beverage industry preferred).
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to ensure accurate interpretation of maintenance instructions, safety procedures, and technical documentation.
- Basic welding, fabrication, and machine shop skills a plus.
- Familiarity with PLC-controlled systems and instrumentation preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and overtime, as needed.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and noisy environment as typical in food manufacturing.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical training, certification, or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechanical/electrical technology, or a related field preferred.
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced food/beverage production environment.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 40 lbs, and work in varying temperature conditions (hot/wet).
- PPE required in all production areas.
